Dhamma investigation, Malaysia

Penang Hill East

On my way to Georgetown the ferry takes about 20 minutes to take me across. The grey skyline is sacred. The funky boat is sacred. The salty waters are sacred.

Top! of the hill. Can you see the buildings on the left? That’s where Joy and i helped in the kitchen at a Vipassana Course. The experience was … baffling, for several reasons. My stance on Goenka’s methods and entourage of assistant teachers has changed. In the end, we did our best to make the best of it and take care of a wounded animal.

Penang at night. Beautiful. The Kek Lok Si Temple with the huge Kuanyin statue highlighted colourfully in the dark
